Laurentien van Oranje has a longstanding track record in the fields of child participation and sustainability. She is Founder and Director of the Missing Chapter Foundation (MCF), believing in the crucial role of children and young people as change agents in society. MCF brings together children and decision-makers in the private and public sectors to engage in outcome-driven dialogue on societal and organisational dilemma’s. She is also the creator and writer of various children’s books, including the Mr Finney series, which have been translated into seven languages. In her position as Executive Fellow of the Major Alliance she builds cross-sector alliances around issues concerning children growing up safely and healthily.

In addition, Princess Laurentien is the Founder and Honorary Chair of the Reading & Writing Foundation (Stichting Lezen & Schrijven) and UNESCO Special Envoy on Literacy for Development. She is also President of Fauna & Flora International, Fellow at the European Climate Foundation and President of the European Cultural Foundation.
